Far West Indigenous Family Violence Service is Auspice by Cunnamulla Aboriginal Corporation for Health and funded by Dept of Communities, Child Safety and Disabilities Services


The Cunnamulla Aboriginal Corporation for Health successfully gained the auspice of the Far West Indigenous Family Violence Service (FWIFVS) within the Paroo and Bulloo Shires as well as Charleville, St George and surrounding areas.

The FWIFVS aims to improve and increase the provision and access to services as well as the wellbeing of people in rural Australia by providing new and innovative local primary health care solutions and transport services.

Forms of Domestic Violence

Abuse in relationships can take many forms and ranges from physical attacks to emotional abuse. Abusive behaviours could include:

Fear, Intimidation, Verbal Abuse, Physical Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Economic Abuse, Social Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Controlling Behaviours, Stalking, Separation Violence & Spousal Homicide

Working with families to construct an individual/family relevant “Safety Plan”.
Offering a confidential service to all clients who present to ensure privacy and mandatory Safety to all involved.

Assisting families through diligent Support in their homes, court, crisis payments, transport & accommodation.

Advocating with or on behalf of clients when dealing with other agencies.Making relevant/appropriate referrals to assist families on a needs basis.

Promoting awareness and education of Domestic Violence.
